Gardening is a game of chance. By this it is meant that choosing the right time to plant items is a guessing game. Certain plants need to be planted after first frost or before winter. So with this you need to research what you want to plant and when it needs to be planted. Many people want a beautiful garden full of flowers. This is a noble thing because you can create art if done properly. With proper planning this can be completed.
First thing to do is check or test the dirt in the area you want to plant in. This test will also determine what kind of nutrients and items that will help your plants grow. Most dirt will benefit from the addition of manure. Also, you want to grow plants designed for the area you live in. Plants that are normal to where you live are better designed, built to survive and easier to take care of. By this, I look at if you live in the north you don't want to grow plants that grown in the desert. Other things to remember that plants are in the correct spot. Don't plant sun needy plants in shady areas and shady plants won't grow in sunny spots.
Another thing that will benefit your garden is to put plants of similar nature together. Doing this will allow you to easily tend to things without having to worry if one plant needs more than another. Also, consider how much time you have to cultivate your garden. When thinking of this you must be true. Don't plant things you can't take care of in a timely matter. Also, when choosing space or plants that you want to grow consider the design of your house and yard. You don't want to plant a tree that is going to grow huge and interfere with power lines when full-grown. If you want a great tree for the summer maybe a red maple. For fall you may want a ginko tree. Growing shrubs in your yard can also make an interesting choice for your garden. Many shrubs can be planted early and can bloom when spring comes. Remember gardening can be both fun and rewarding if correctly done.
